1. First off can you tell the readers more about yourself?
My name is Destiny Tenille. I'm a first-generation Jamaican. I graduated from the United States Naval Academy and served as an officer in the United States Navy. Growing up, I always loved the stage. I found my love for the stage at the age of 9 when I first auditioned for the renowned Chattanooga Ballet's, The Nutcracker. For eight years I performed various roles in The Nutcracker. I later got into stage plays, participating in plays at the Chattanooga Theater Center.
In 2009, I was selected to be the spokesmodel for a professional hairstylist in Virginia and was featured in Sophisticate's Black Hair Magazine in 2009/10. I have since appeared multiple times in the hit NBC TV show, Smash. Most recently, I have walked numerous runways from Los Angeles to New York City and trained with America's Next Top Models Brittney Sharaun and Laura James. My current acting projects include the TV pilot Brother, independent film, 50 Pack, and web series Through It All. I produced a very successful fundraiser fashion show called Fight for Fashion back in October of 2017. We could donate over $1100 to a young lady fighting cancer, because of this show I co-founded Service After Service, a nonprofit founded by veterans who have served their country, and now are serving their community.
2. Not only are you a Model and Actress, but a Runway Coach. What is something that aspiring models might overlook?
There is so much to think about when walking a runway! Stand up straight, hold your stomach in, don't cross your arms... CROSSOVER! I could go on, but I would say that the most overlooked tip for runway walking is to keep your chin down. Most shows, the audience is sitting and so are the photographers. You want to make sure that you are getting a good angle in your pictures.
